Analyzing The Intelligent Manufacturing Of Analytical Instruments From The National Strategy

- Jan 24, 2018 -

Not long ago, I was fortunate enough to participate in the Chinese Academy of Engineering by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, China Society of Automotive Engineers, China Electrotechnical Society, China Instrument Society, China Agricultural Machinery Association jointly organized by the "2018 Spring Festival report. " The Spring Festival Report is a brand project jointly offered to members by the five associations in January of each year. It is also an effective platform for learning to cooperate with each other and to exchange and exchange information among members. The report will invite well-known domestic experts to conduct a comprehensive analysis and in-depth interpretation of major annual hot issues. The topics covered in the report cover a wide range of topics including: industry, science and technology, military affairs, international relations and regional situations. In this seminar, the organizers invited academician Zhou Ji, Dean of Chinese Academy of Engineering to conduct a comprehensive analysis and in-depth interpretation of "intelligent manufacturing" under the theme of "new generation of intelligent manufacturing - the core driver of a new round of industrial revolution."

Since the Pangu epoch, the earth has evolved from ape to man. When human civilization appears on this planet, the social forms and modes of production of mankind have been constantly changing with the changes of history.

In the mid-18th century, the industrialized nations represented by Britain embarked on the first industrial revolution centered on mechanization. Jennifer textile machine, Watt steam engine, and steam engine powered steamship, trains and other means of transport have come out. Liberation of both hands, the mode of car to the human production and life has brought great change.

The 1870s marked the second industrial revolution in the electrification era. Siemens generators, Edison lights, telephones and other inventions made the human society enter the "electric" era. It is also with the invention and application of electricity at that time that there was now a variety of computers, players, and mobile phones that facilitate communication and entertainment.

After the end of World War II, the third industrial revolution began with the remarkable feature of information technology, also known as the information revolution. More specifically, information technology, represented by electronic computers, has become more widely used and faster in computing speed, enabling large-scale and complex calculations that can not be completed by human beings, large amounts of data storage, and rapid dissemination of information. For this reason, the rapid development of space technology, nuclear energy technology and biotechnology is made possible.

In the author's opinion, basically, we can sum up as follows: improving production efficiency, improving product quality, optimizing the allocation of production factors, reducing costs, and meeting the ever-increasing needs of users. Take the third industrial revolution as an example. In 1950, the total global GDP was 5.3 trillion U.S. dollars, reaching 13.8 trillion U.S. dollars in 1970, with an average annual compound growth rate of 4.9%, of which the average annual growth rate was between 1960 and 1970 Up to 5.03%.

The fourth industrial revolution marked by intelligent manufacturing is now under way in the 21st century.

As intelligent manufacturing is a big concept and a large number of paradigms, it is not conducive to forming a unified intelligent manufacturing technology route, which has caused many troubles to enterprises in promoting the practice of intelligent upgrading. According to the latest research results of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, integrated intelligent manufacturing related ways can be summed up and promote the three basic paradigms of intelligent manufacturing, that is, digital manufacturing, digital networked manufacturing, digital networked intelligent manufacturing (that is, a new generation of intelligent manufacturing) , Intelligent manufacturing three basic paradigm first, iterative upgrade. On the one hand, the three basic paradigms embody the three phases of the international smart manufacturing process. On the other hand, for China, it is necessary to give play to its advantages as a latecomer and take the technical route of "pushing forward in parallel and integrating development" in the three basic paradigms.

Specific to the next three years to five years, the focus of promoting intelligent manufacturing in China is the large-scale promotion and full application of digital network manufacturing, the second generation of intelligent manufacturing. German Industry 4.0 and the American Industrial Internet have elaborated the manufacturing paradigm for this phase and also put forward the technical route to realize digital networked manufacturing. What really can be regarded as a new generation of industrial revolution is to go to the third stage of intelligent manufacturing, that is, digital network and intelligent manufacturing. If digital networked manufacturing is the beginning of a new round of industrial revolution, the breakthrough and extensive application of a new generation of intelligent manufacturing will push the climax of this industrial revolution, leading the true industry 4.0 and realizing the fourth industrial revolution. So, a new generation of intelligent manufacturing system than the first and second generations of any progress? The most essential feature is that its information system has undergone major changes. Increasing the cognitive and learning functions, the original we have in the previous generation of information systems, the main perception, analysis and decision-making and control functions, now added a new function, that is, cognitive and learning functions, so not only the information system Has a strong sense of computational analysis and control capabilities, more able to learn to enhance and generate knowledge.

In 2015, the State Council printed and distributed "Made in China 2025", and deployed to comprehensively promote the implementation of the strategy of manufacturing power. Through a strategy of "three steps," we will basically achieve the goal of transforming from a manufacturing power to a manufacturing power by using a decade or so of each step. By 2025, our country will enter the second tier in the world in building a powerful nation, that is, its industrial technology is close to that of Germany and Japan. By 2035, our country will occupy the forefront of the second tier, that is, it will start to surpass Germany and Japan. By 2045, our country The first echelon of building a powerful nation in the world must be kept pace with the United States. The "Made in China 2025" one of the main directions is smart manufacturing.

The timetable of the national industrial strategy has been formulated and the strategic direction is also very clear. It is based on the prosperity and strength of the manufacturing industry to support the country's prosperity and strength. The author does indeed make people excited. As a professional analytical equipment industry website, we are also observing, China's analytical instruments industry, their own schedule and how to develop?

For the national analytical instrument manufacturing enterprises, there are still many not yet completed the digital transformation, this lesson is needed to make up, digital production is also the basis of intelligent manufacturing. At the product level, the development of intelligent analysis instruments / equipment, according to my superficial view, should first be combined with emerging technologies such as big data and cloud platforms to further develop and improve simple analytical techniques without sample preparation or sample preparation, such as: Near infrared, Raman, LIBS, atmospheric pressure open source ion mass spectrometry. The reason is actually very simple. In today's analytical laboratories, the workload of sample preparation can generally account for more than 70% of the total analytical work. Second, it is still related to sample preparation, the development of automated sample preparation technology and the transition to intelligent. We can expect the intelligent sample preparation technology in the future, that is to say, we should explore the device ourselves and develop the sample processing method. We are full of expectation. Thirdly, we make real-time intelligent analysis of the analytical instruments / equipments by using the technologies of sensors, big data and artificial intelligence And intelligent control, in order to optimize the operation of equipment / equipment and intelligent protection. If the future of analytical equipment companies want to shift from manufacturing to manufacturing services, which is a very interesting technology development direction; Fourth, integrated innovation, that is, a number of analytical or sample processing technologies integrated in one instrument / equipment, The trend of this technology is clear in recent years, both imported and domestic products.

Finally, what we want to say is that no matter what kind of "manufacturing" is ultimately implemented by the enterprises. China's smart manufacturing strategy also pointed out: To promote intelligent manufacturing to fully stimulate the endogenous vitality of enterprises, especially the majority of SMEs, to seek truth from facts to explore their own transformation and upgrading of the technological path. Governments at all levels, science and technology, academia and the financial community should jointly create a good ecological environment to help and support the intelligent upgrading of enterprises, especially large and medium-sized enterprises.
